Downtown College Prep

Downtown College Prep

DCP is a small charter school serving 9th-12th grade students in the San Jose Unified School District. All students are prepared for college success regardless of their academic performance when they enter DCP.

In order to graduate from DCP students must be accepted to a four-year college and complete the UC/CSU entrance requirements.

In order to support students on the path to college, DCP provides academic intervention courses, an extended day, classroom advisors, and a culture that rewards academic growth and achievement.

Other key features of DCP include:

  • Every student has an academic advisor where study habits are developed and nurtured and where students learn the "College Knowledge" necessary for success
  • "University A-G" plans for every student
  • Weekly assemblies where the school builds spirit and renews its commitment to college success
  • College Counselors who work individually with all students by coaching them through the college application process
  • A full-time College Financial Aid Manager who assists students and their families with all aspects of college financial aid, including finding multiple college scholarships
  • A College Scholarship Fund available to recent graduates and alumni. To date, DCP has granted nearly $1M in college scholarships

Campus tours are available for interested families every Monday morning at 8:15am. Please call 408-271-1730 x 284 or email ahill@dcp.org to schedule a tour.
