Teaching at DCP

DCP teachers believe:

  • ALL our students—no matter how far they may have wandered off the college track—are headed to college
  • It is possible to engage students who are performing 3-4 years below grade level and accelerate their learning so they graduate prepared to thrive in four-year universities
  • Teacher practice is at the center of student success
  • Data should be used to drive our decisions, improve our practices, and serve our students

Teaching at DCP is a commitment to improving the instructional capacity of all teachers in every classroom. Teaching at DCP is both inspiring and demanding but teachers are all encouraged by the knowledge that in every classroom teachers are coaching and leading students toward college success.

DCP teachers build personal and supportive connections with our students while having unwaveringly high expectations, all in an effort to build students' core skills and content knowledge so that graduates' can pursue college confident and prepared.
