Downtown College Prep's Best Practices Philosophy
Holding true to the DCP mission to prepare underachieving students who are the first in their family to go to college to thrive at four-year universities, we recognize the need to create an engagement where we share out the best practices both from a curriculum viewpoint but almost more importantly from a broader perspective of how the school was founded, developed and sustained.
DCP has a desire to reach out to the educational community and share the teaching philosophies, instructional methods and community engagement strategies that have led to its success as an agent of transformative change in the lives of DCP children and their families.
The intent of DCP’s best practices effort is to share what we have learned over our eight years with others. Simply put, we want to take the lessons we have learned, the ideas that have worked and the realistic struggles we have had to face and talk honestly with our academic neighbors who face similar challenges
and opportunities.
