Director of Student Services
Year joined DCP: 2018
"My dad is first-gen so I have experienced personally how being the first to go to college can change the trajectory of a family's story, not just an individual's. By all accounts my dad is amazingly successful in his work and his impact on the world, but as I've gotten older he's also shared more and more about the logistical struggles of attending college as well as the feelings of not fitting in or imposter syndrome that stem from navigating systems and structure of power as an "outsider". I work at DCP because we work as an organization to ameliorate the logistical and emotional challenges of being first-gen in a way that my dad never got and that our students deserve. I work at DCP because the brilliance of our students should be allowed to thrive, supported to thrive and needs to thrive for this world to be the one I believe it can be".
